R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr. is the founder and editor in chief of The American Spectator. He is the author of How Do We Get Out of Here: Half a Century of Laughter and Mayhem at the American Spectator from Bobby Kennedy to Donald J. Trump. He is also the author of The Death of Liberalism, published by Thomas Nelson Inc; New York Times bestseller Boy Clinton: The Political Biography; The Impeachment of William Jefferson Clinton; The Liberal Crack-Up; The Conservative Crack-Up; Public Nuisances; The Future that Doesn’t Work: Social Democracy’s Failure in Britain; Madame Hillary: The Dark Road to the White House; The Clinton Crack-Up; and After the Hangover: The Conservatives’ Road to Recovery. He makes frequent appearances on national television and is a nationally syndicated columnist, whose articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Baltimore Sun, Washington Times, National Review, Harper’s, Commentary, The (London) Spectator, Le Figaro (Paris), and elsewhere. He is also a contributing editor to the New York Sun.

Dr. Kengor is also a professor of political science at Grove City College, a senior academic fellow at the Center for Vision & Values, and the author of over a dozen books, including A Pope and a President: John Paul II, Ronald Reagan, and the Extraordinary Untold Story of the 20th Century, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Communism, and Dupes: How America’s Adversaries Have Manipulated Progressives for a Century.

Wlady Pleszczynski is the Executive Editor of The American Spectator. He has been with the magazine for nearly 40 years. His work has also appeared in the Wall Street Journal and the Times Literary Supplement. Wlady is also a distinguished visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution.

Melissa Mackenzie is Publisher of The American Spectator. Melissa commentates for the BBC and has appeared on Fox. Her work has been featured at The Guardian, PJ Media, and was a front page contributor to RedState. Melissa commutes from Houston, Texas to Alexandria, VA. She lives in Houston with her two sons, one daughter, and two diva rescue cats.

Ellie Gardey Holmes

Reporter and Associate Editor

Ellie Gardey Holmes is Reporter and Associate Editor at The American Spectator. She is the author of Newsom Unleashed: The Progressive Lust for Unbridled Power. She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where she studied political science, philosophy, and journalism. Ellie has previously written for the Daily Caller, College Fix, and Irish Rover. She is originally from Michigan.

Leonora Cravotta

Director of Operations

Leonora Cravotta is Director of Operations with The American Spectator, a position she previously held at The American Conservative. She also co-hosts a show on Red State Talk Radio. She previously held marketing positions with JPMorgan Chase and TD Bank and additionally served as Director of Development for an award-winning charter school in Philadelphia. Leonora received a BA in English/French from Denison University, an MA in English from the University of Kentucky, and an MBA in Marketing from Fordham University. She writes about literature and popular culture.

Stephan Kapustka

Senior Development Associate

Stephan Kapustka is Senior Development Associate at The American Spectator. A native of Glastonbury, Connecticut, he graduated from Quinnipiac University with a degree in political science. His work has also been featured in The Federalist. Now a resident of Alexandria, Virginia, he enjoys writing about elections and culture.

Lyrah Margo

Intercollegiate Studies Institute Fellow

Lyrah Margo is a recent graduate from Arizona Christian University, where she studied communication, political science, and biblical studies. Lyrah is the Intercollegiate Studies Institute Fellow at The American Spectator. Originally from Hawai’i, Lyrah enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, and exploring new places.

Aubrey Harris

Columnist

Aubrey Harris is a graduate of Hillsdale College (2023), the former Intercollegiate Studies Institute fellow at The American Spectator and current columnist. She writes Spectator P.M. Newsletter for American Spectator subscribers where she rambles on current events, historical topics, and life in general. When she isn’t writing, Aubrey enjoys long runs, solving rock climbs, and rattling windows with the 32-foot pipes on the organ.

Seth Forman is a weekend editor at The American Spectator and managing editor of Academic Questions, the quarterly journal of the National Association of Scholars.
